This design focuses on the three most important public safety services which are provided for Vinton County citizens; the Emergency Management Agency, a Short-Sentence County Jail/Sheriff’s Office, and the Emergency Medical Services program. The significance of this facility to the community suggested a design expressing pride and stability and reflecting a spirit of order and control. Each building component will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and their layouts will include contemporary operational philosophies. Each building component shares many common areas, such as public lobby, public toilets, kitchen space, training room, and ancillary space.
