Shremshock completes new LEED Certified Healthcare Facility: the St. Francis Health System, based in Mishawaka, Indiana, announces their first LEED Certified facility, the new Chesterton Health and Emergency Center, located in Chesterton, Indiana. Shremshock served as the Architect and the facility was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is granted by the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility achieved a Silver Certification by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

Shremshock recently sponsored the 2012 Fall Conference of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Greater Ohio Healthcare Leaders Forum at the Newport Aquarium, Newport, Kentucky. Approximately 200 Healthcare Executives attended and heard featured speaker Dr. Daniel Zismer of the University of Minnesota present the “Integration vs. Competition: The Future of Hospital-Physician Relations” and the “Impact of Healthcare Reform”.

Shremshock completes new Knox Community Hospital Center for Cardiovascular Services. Shremshock Architects and Engineers’ have recently completed an expansion and modernization of this nearly 3 million dollar project which includes a second catheterization lab and new high-quality digital imaging equipment that takes cardiac care to a new level, additional patient rooms and a more comfortable waiting area for patients and family alike. The interventional cardiologists on staff offer 24/7 interventional and can swiftly and safely diagnosis heart abnormalities and provide immediate, life-saving attention.
